Aion Gladiator Tips
The Gladiator is a great hybrid class, it is a tank and a DPS in one. But it does not excel at both. The ideal position is the off-tank. This means that the Gladiator can be there upfront in melee with main tank, but not taking all the damage. As an off-tank you are there to get the focus of the boss mob, if the main tank dies, or there are multiple mobs attacking, too much for the main tank. Although the Gladiator can use a large array of weapons, the defining weapons for this class are either the Greatsword or the Polearm. The most powerful skills are in these weapons. Polearms can do Area of Effect damage that hits multiple targets at once, but are generally slower than Greatswords. Greatswords do more damage, but also have knockback effects, which make a Greatsword equipped Gladiator very effective in PvP, as disabling an enemy in PvP, is almost as good as killing them.
The Snare is an essential skill for the Gladiator, and must be mapped to a key always, as enemies will run away from you when they are low in health. Since Gladiators are primarily melee fighters, it can be frustrating chasing an opponents and be able to hit them. But having the Snare handy, you can slow the opponent down enough to catch up and give them a few more whacks to finish them off. For Amour, the Gladiators can wear all amours, from weak cloth to damage absorbing plate. Cloth is pointless on the Gladiators, and most Gladiators should go for plate, due to is resilience. But mail and leather can also be useful due to their evasive bonuses, which maybe useful in situations where it would be better not to get hit at all, rather than rely on the plate armour fending off the blow.
